For its third edition, on Saturday January 25 and Sunday January 26 at the Sémaphore in Trébeurden, the Côte de Granit Rose Manga Festival offers an immersion in Japanese culture. Artistic creation, music, disguise (cosplay), games but also cooking constitute part of this rich program. The organization is offering two new features this year: a gaming area and the screening of a cartoon on Saturday evening “Ponyo on the Cliff” by Hayao Miyazaki.
The return of a K-pop group from Saint-Brieuc
This municipal action masterfully carried out by Karine Topart, deputy mayor in charge of culture, constitutes a highlight of the winter: “This event, outside of holidays or summer periods, is aimed at all audiences and, obviously, young people who are fond of it. This year we managed to bring in well-known illustrators and creators, notably Medzi-O, a mangaka from Nantes, and Siby Ogawa. We also have the K-pop group who are young people from Saint-Brieuc. They were a hit last year! “.
Only paid workshops
The particularity of this event, unlike other actions of the same type, is that it is free; only the workshops are paying: “We made the price more accessible to everyone this year knowing that the number of places is limited and that the equipment is provided, like the drawing workshop on I-Pad,” explains Karine Topart. As a preview, on Friday January 24, activities are organized for schools: origami workshop at the Trébeurden school and digital drawing and cooking workshops at Saint-Joseph college.
