You may have already come across a movie scene filmed outdoors, on Place Masséna or the Promenade des Anglais. In 2024, the city of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) welcomed many filmings films, series, documentaries or television shows.
In total, she accumulated “610 days of filming and photography in the public domain”, rejoice the services of Christian Estrosi.
610 days of filming on public property
As we know, the Côte d’Azur is very popular with film and series directors. The City of Nice has indeed recorded a record year in terms of the number of filmings, announced the municipal services in a press release. “Nice welcomed 610 days of filming and shooting in the public domain,” they say.
2024 is a new record year for filming, on set or outdoors, and for shots in Nice, attesting to the cinematography of our city and its power of attraction for national and international productions. Nice is undoubtedly the City of creation and, more particularly, of cinematographic and audiovisual creation. And this is not about to change given the ambition we have for the development of the audiovisual sector in our territory.
Several series have recently been filmed in emblematic locations of the Riviera capital. Notably Carpe Diem, produced by Samuel Le Bihan and broadcast on TF1, which stormed the legendary Hôtel du Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais. An impressive scene on the facade caught the attention of passers-by.
International films and the thriller “Burn the Blood”
The press release lists the number of productions which have chosen Nice as a setting in 2024:

- 16 documentaries
- 26 TV shows
- 7 advertisements
- 9 short films
- 11 films corporate
- 9 video clips
- 30 shootings photos
- 8 school films
Also, we count the film « Heads of States » by Ilya Naishuller with John Cena and Idris Elba broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, ‘Les Immortelles’ by Caroline Deruas and Jihane Chouaib with Lena Garrel, Emmanuelle Béart, Vihina Giocante, scheduled for release in 2026, or even “Qui Brille au combat” by Joséphine Japy with Mélanie Laurent and Pierre-Yves Cardinal, which will also be released in theaters next year.
The thriller “Brûle le sang” with Nicolas Duvauchelle, whose filming took place in the city center in September 2023, was previewed at Pathé Gare du Sud in Nice this Tuesday January 14, 2025.
“The most filmed town on the Côte d’Azur”
The Riviera city is also highly coveted by brands for their advertising spots. This was particularly the case of LancomeMercedes, MichelinMassimo Dutti, Isotoner, Tissot, IKKS, IntersportsCabaïa, or still Geox.
“In addition, as part of its development policy for the cinematographic and audiovisual sector, the City of Nice provides assistance with rewriting, production and post-production for projects including the script, casting or filming locations contribute to the influence of the territory,” adds the press release.
These record figures make Nice “the most filmed and photographed city on the Côte d’Azur”.
