Sefrou: 2 billion dirhams of investments validated in two years

The Unified Regional Investment Commission (CRUI) has approved, since 2022, a total of 192 projects in the province of Sefrou for an amount of more than 2 billion dirhams, indicated Friday the wali of the Fez-Meknes region, Mouaad Never.

Speaking during a communication meeting bringing together the main players and investors in the province of Sefrou, the wali specified that during the last quarter of 2024, the CRUI validated projects for an amount of 290 million dirhams. , or 66% of the files presented.

Concerning public investments, the province of Sefrou had already benefited from 6 billion dirhams of investments between 2015 and 2023.

During this meeting, which highlighted the potential of the region and the ambitions for its future, Mr. Jamai noted the importance of collaboration with the private sector to achieve the objectives of the new development model.

“Our objective, through this meeting, is to launch a participatory dialogue to highlight the vital sectors of the region, to improve its attractiveness and to attract more investments,” he said, highlighting before the royal vision in terms of economic development and investment in infrastructure.

He also underlined the ambition to establish the Fez-Meknes region as an economic center of excellence, based on a sustainable and inclusive development model.

In this context, he recalled the assets of the province of Sefrou, in particular its qualified human capital, its rich historical heritage, its strategic geographical location and its potential in sectors such as industry, agriculture, tourism, renewable energy and technology.

The province of Sefrou offers specific assets, notably its 118,000 hectares of arable land, its olive, apple and plum orchards, as well as its large livestock population.

In the field of tourism, the historical richness of the Sefrou medina, the Bhalil caves and the natural beauty of the region, particularly highlighting the Cherry Festival, a century-old event which contributes to the tourist attractiveness of the province.

Structural projects such as the M’dez dam, the construction of which is 99% complete, and the hydro-agricultural development project for the Saïss plain, which will make it possible to irrigate more than 60,000 hectares, significantly increase agricultural potential. of the province.

Note also that several development projects were launched or inaugurated on the same day in the province of Sefrou with a budget of more than 21 million dirhams. Thus, the project to create and equip the industrial zone dedicated to artisans and harmful and polluting activities in the Bouderham area (Souk Tarcha) was launched. This zone extends over an area of ​​1.56 hectares and mobilizes a total budget of 20 MDH.

The industrial zone, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, will accommodate around 140 units dedicated to several activities such as mechanics, automobile repair and electricity, sheet metal work, painting, welding and modern carpentry.
