After the year of the dragon, it will be the year of the “little dragon”. Wednesday January 29, 2025 will be Chinese New Year. Who says new year says new animal. 2025 will be placed under the sign of the snake. A very important animal in Chinese culture.
So what does this sign mean and what to expect for this new year?
A pair of snake humans at the origin of humanity
“The year of the snake which follows that of the dragon is called the year of the “little dragon”. The representation of the dragon is linked to the snake, its neck is covered with snake scales and its abdomen with lizard skin,” begins Badema, master of Feng Shui, Chinese astrology and Qi Gong, contacted by actu.fr.
A little dragon “well anchored in Chinese daily life”. Indeed, in mythology, the couple of creator gods of humanity, Fuxi and Nuwa, were a couple whose bodies are half human and half snake.
Fuxi is Yang, god of the Sun and Nuwa is yin, goddess of the Moon. Their birth and the creation of the Universe are represented, like two intertwined snakes, Fuxi holding a ruler and Nuwa a compass.
The snake, one of the symbols of marital harmony
Among the four great Chinese legends, we also find one around the snake, the story of the Goddess of the White Serpent married to a human being.
“In this beautiful legend, you find the important values for the Chinese: recognition, loyalty in lovecombativeness in the face of adversity, hope and confidence in the future,” Badema explains to us.
-Combined together, the Lapland and the snake form the marital balance in harmony. “The serpent is the little dragon, in the image of the Sun, and is Yang. The rabbit, animal of the Moon, is Yin. »
During Chinese New Year or a wedding, we cut red paper to make pendants with the image of a snake wrapped around a rabbit. These decorations symbolize wealth, luck and prosperity.
Happiness and conciliation
That being said, as the Year of the Snake begins, what should we expect in 2025?
Of course, in astrology, your horoscope depends on your sign. But when one is under the protection of the serpent, “we wish you to be conciliatory in your daily life, to progress fluidly and to be filled with happiness.
Fluidity, conciliation. Indeed, the snake is an agile animal. And in Chinese culture, it is often represented in the shape of a spiral. “It represents flexible energyrising and full,” concludes Badema.
