The Caen Theater (Calvados) is in the spotlight this year at the Classical Music victories 2025with three key artists of its programming among the nominees: Justin Taylor, Francesco Filideiet Lucile Richardot. A brilliant recognition for talents already well known to the Caen public.
Justin Taylor: the harpsichordist at the top of his art
The young Franco-American harpsichordist Justin Taylor, a critically acclaimed virtuoso, is in the running in the “Instrumental Soloist” category. His talent will be in the spotlight during the weekend Dare Haydn! organized at the Théâtre de Caen on March 21, 22 and 23, 2025.
On March 22, he will offer a intimate concert titled Sonatas for pianoforte, intimate Haydn. Taylor will also perform in a trio with Julien Chauvin, violinist and founder of the Concert de la Loge, and cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière. Together, they will open the weekend with the concert Viennese escapewhich will celebrate Haydn and Beethoven.
Francesco Filidei: the daring composer
The Italian Francesco Filideione of the most influential composers of his generation, is nominated thanks to his boundless creativity. This season he signs the score of Squeak Bouma work of musical theater that promises to be one of the highlights of the program. To be discovered from February on the stage of the Théâtre de Caen. Filidei is not his first collaboration with the Caen house: in 2016, he presented his first opera there, Giordano Bruno.
-Lucile Richardot: a familiar and unforgettable voice
Emblematic figure of the Théâtre de Caen, the mezzo-soprano Lucile Richardot is nominated in the category “Lyrical artist”. The Caen public recently applauded her in the role of Pythonnisse in David and Jonathan of Carpenter, or even in The female Man by Galuppi, directed by Agnès Jaoui last November. Her career is punctuated by memorable performances, notably as Queen of the Night in The Royal Ballet of the Night or in Arsilda, Queen of Ponto under the direction of Václav Luks.
Also note among the nominees, the presence in the “Lyrical Artist Revelation” category of the soprano Julie Rosetwho shone last season alongside the Musiciens de Saint-Julien during the concert Sweet Bird.

The 2025 Classical Music Victory ceremony will take place at the beginning of March the Rouen-Normandy Opera and will be broadcast live on France 3 and France Musique. An evening that promises to celebrate excellence and highlight artists who have already won the hearts of the Caen public.
