Lyricist and songwriter Stéphane Venne died surrounded by his loved ones on Friday at the age of 83. He leaves behind a legacy of Quebec songs.

Mr. Venne wrote his first songs when he was a teenager in the late 1950s. He has received numerous awards and honors, such as the Excellent Award at the Canadian Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers Gala ( SOCAN) in 2011. He was also nominated at the ADISQ Gala in 1979 for arranger of the year/record.
