Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry… A star concert organized in Los Angeles for the victims of the fires

The guest list would make festival programmers green with envy. This would be a joy if the cause was not so tragic. Dozens of artists responded to the call from the FireAid organization to perform on January 30 during a major concert in support of the victims of the Los Angeles fires, which have ravaged more than 16,000 hectares since beginning of the year.

Billie Eilish, native of the City of Angels, will be one of the headliners, as will the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Earth, Wind & Fire, Rod Stewart and Sting, details CNN. Other performers are expected to be announced soon and join the event.

Massive calls for donations

The concert will be held on January 30 at the Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome. It will be broadcast on and radio in the United States, but also on numerous platforms, such as Apple TV, Netflix, Paramount + and Prime Video in particular.

Through appeals for donations, FireAid will raise funds “to rebuild affected communities and support initiatives to prevent future fire disasters in Southern California.” A foundation will help the teams coordinate the use of funds to optimally allocate sums according to needs, whether for prevention or emergency aid to disaster victims.

Several American stars have already provided financial support to firefighters and associations on the sidelines of this disaster, to the tune of several million dollars. Among them: Beyoncé, Jamie Lee Curtis, Eva Longoria, Mark Zuckerberg and even Hilton, whose house was reduced to ashes.

The city of Los Angeles has been affected since January 7 by fires of rare magnitude, fanned by the Santa Ana winds. The flames caused the death of at least 24 people and the damage was considerable. More than 12,000 homes, buildings and vehicles were destroyed or damaged and entire neighborhoods razed. Around 150,000 people had to be evacuated and have still not been able to return to their homes.
