Opera costumes at the Capitol
On the occasion of the fairytale opera “Orphée aux enfers” by Jacques Offenbach, from January 24 to February 2, in Toulouse, the Théâtre du Capitole is offering a new episode of its series “My job at the opera”. A meeting is organized on Saturday January 18, at 6 p.m., with Marine Provent, head of the costume workshop, who will present models from previous creations. We can see the costume of the Prince, the Foreign Princess and the witch Jezibaba from “Rusalka”, that of The Nurse in “Boris Godunov”, the pink costume from “Pearl Fishers” or even Tatiana’s ball costume in “Eugene Onegin” as far as operas are concerned. Some dance outfits will also be on display, including a boy’s costume and a girl’s costume from the ballet “Themes and Variations” by George Balanchine and a crinoline skirt from the ballet “Don Juan” by Eduward Clug.

Oli’s Imaginary Museum
Since its opening on December 6 at Les Abattoirs, the Oli Imaginary Museum has welcomed more than 27,000 visitors. A great start for this temporary exhibition like no other, which attracts all audiences, including young people. Its attendance is in fact close to that of “The Lady and the Unicorn” in 2021, which was a success. Designed entirely by the Toulouse rapper, with the help of the museum team, this “Imaginary Museum” offers a melting pot of childhood memories, works that marked him, personal objects and commissions in homage to Toulouse and music. Oli was given carte blanche to select the works he liked from the reserves and invite the artists he likes to participate. At the same time, the Festival of Imaginations offers cultural programming to extend this universe. This Friday evening, for example, jazz trumpeter Daoud, who we saw last September at the Rose Festival, will play in the Picasso room, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
