In , the Plateau des 4 Vents opens the curtain on its stage for 2025

The Plateau des 4 Vents, a municipal performance hall in , inaugurated its 2025 program on Saturday January 11 with the rehearsal of a play performed by a high school troupe. “We are happy,” declares the Department of Culture, “to be able to offer the city’s associations and educational establishments a room with 254 seats and a 112 m2 stage fully equipped to accommodate artists with diverse backgrounds and needs.” The programming is indeed very eclectic: theater, concerts, dance, conferences, etc.

“Optimum conditions”

The theater workshop at the Lycée Dupuy-de-Lôme got the ball rolling for 2025 with the rehearsal of “Liaisons Dangereuses”, which they will perform in March. “It’s really great for us to have such a room,” says Ms. Labouret, the teacher who leads the troupe. It is very close to the city center and it is on a human scale, and with its fabric armchairs, this makes it friendly. Not to mention a sound system adapted to groups like us. The lighting is great too. We really work there in optimum conditions.”

The first show for all audiences will be held on January 31 with another theatrical performance, “Come and dine tonight”, a comedy by Frédéric Allard, performed by the Coup de Torchon company. In February, the Lorient Youth Agora will present a “cinema-discussion” evening, organized by the City’s youth and international relations department. Then it’s time for music with the rehearsal, on February 21, of the bagad and the bagadig Sonerien an Oriant. A conference organized by the Compagnie des Indes museum will end the month with the theme of the first trip around the world under Louis XIV by a Breton ship. It will be hosted on February 27 by Patrice Decencière, editor-in-chief of the Neptunia magazine.

March, Ireland Month

In March, St. Patrick’s Day and the 50th anniversary of the Lorient-Galway twinning will be in the spotlight. On Monday the 17th, the concert by the Irish group The Bards of Sweeney will open the party at 6:30 p.m. An animated film, “Le Chant de la Mer”, will be screened on the 19th.

The theater returns on March 27 with “Drooles de chien” and the Airelles troupe. An improvisation show presented by Les Pires will take place on the 29th. A history conference will close the term.
