It’s official! Anthony Colette, big winner of the previous season of the emblematic TF1 dance competition, will not set foot on the floor this year. He briefly clarifies his absence.
In less than a month, ballroom dance fans will finally be able to find their favorite program which, for this fourteenth season, has a brand new broadcast slot. For several weeks, production has slowly been revealing the star team of this new edition. Like every year, the candidates come from a whole bunch of different backgrounds, from sport with Franck Leboeuf and Florent Manaudou, through song with Léni Vacher and Julie Zenatti, without forgetting celebrities straight from the small screen like Sophie Davant or even Claude Dartois. As for professional dancers, however, everything is not so rosy. The official casting may not have yet been announced, but some big regulars of the program are already discussing their arrival in this season 14… or their absence!
Anthony Colette, ousted from Dancing with the Stars?
It was the dancer himself who announced the news in an Instagram post published on January 15, 2025. Anthony Colette will not be part of the adventure Dancing with the stars This year. Yet the big winner of the previous edition alongside Natasha St Pier, the professional dancer suggested, in the text accompanying his publication, that the decision did not come from him, but from the production: “It would be a lie to pretend that I voluntarily chose to end this adventure now. I’m not going to pretend that it was the right time either, because I haven’t decided anything. I don’t necessarily understand the reasons for my absence, of course, but life has decided otherwise, and I must accept” he wrote.
Although he remains incomprehensible, the dancer believes he regrets nothing
Anthony Colette fully assumes the frustration and incomprehension generated by this ousting from the program that made him known. But the young choreographer still remains attached to this adventure which has brought him a lot : “Don’t worry, I won’t criticize this program that I loved so much, nor all the wonderful people I had the chance to meet. I hope that this magical parquet floor continues to make people dream for a long time to come.” he does not fail to specify in his Instagram post, before reassuring his admirers as to the turn his career will take: “Other things await me. Life is like this, you have to know how to adapt, so I will adapt”. Anthony Colette therefore takes off towards new adventures. Could he return in future seasons of the competition? After all, it happened to Christophe Licata, star dancer of the program, who is making his comeback this year. So, it is always possible to hope!
