From today, the international political film festival will begin its 7th edition in with its opening ceremony. The prefectural city of Aude will be punctuated by the 7th art for five days.

For five days, Carcassonne will be immersed in the 7th art with the new edition of the international political film festival. The latter starts this Thursday, January 16 with the opening ceremony from 7 p.m. at the Dôme convention center. The opportunity for movie buffs to immerse themselves before watching the first film “Kneecap” broadcast at 8:30 p.m.

Until the closing ceremony, scheduled for Monday January 20 at 8:30 p.m., the public will be able to discover 44 films, including 21 in competition, as well as more than thirty previews. A true luxury for cinema lovers.

Costa-Gavras Masterclass

On Saturday January 18, the latest film by the famous Franco-Greek filmmaker Costa-Gavras, entitled The Last Breath. The screening is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., followed at 6:15 p.m. by a time for discussion with the director. The public will be able to discuss with him, not only about his work, but also about his latest film. Please note that this will also be screened on Sunday January 19 at 8:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the Coliseum.

Another highlight of the festival: the professional meetings organized especially for this new edition. These are round tables bringing together professionals who will discuss their work with the public. Meet at the Odéum on January 16, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., for the first round table, on the theme: New social imaginaries for French fiction. Thierry Laurentin, author Reveries of a committed cinephile and former sales director at Gaumont, opens the discussion by sharing his expertise in film distribution.

Two other round tables will be organized on Friday January 17 around the theme: Cinema facing war and the rise of populism. These will take place at the following times: from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
