TORONTO, Jan. 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In a new partnership, the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA) and Marquise Hospitality, a division of Compass Group Canada that provides services to residents of ‘first’ in long-term care and independent living facilities, today announced a unique collaboration aimed at improving the meal experience for seniors across Canada.

As part of this new collaboration, RIA’s innovative, evidence-based CHOICE+ research and education initiative is integrated into Marquise Hospitalité’s SENSES program, which helps senior care facilities find solutions to the many challenges related to nutrition and the meal experience. Combining the principles of CHOICE+ and SENSES promises to amplify the RIA’s important educational resources across 190 Canadian senior communities and nearly 8,000 residents.

Additionally, this new partnership will allow Marquise Hospitality to help up to 200 community food managers across Canada become CHOICE+ Champions for Change through training provided by the RIA. CHOICE+ Champions for Change is an online learning course for senior living and long-term care facility managers, based on change management principles that help homes create engaging, health-focused meal experiences. the person.
