Cliffs, pebble beaches, gardens… the town of Étretat where Pete (henceforth Peter) Doherty lives is the setting for the British singer’s new music video.
An unequivocal ode to the city of Étretat. British rock legend Pete Doherty, or now Peter Doherty, released his new video for his song this Wednesday, January 15 Felt Better Alive. A video which opens directly onto the Manneporte, the largest rock arch in the city, and which follows the singer of the group The Libertines through the town of Seine-Maritime.
From pebble beaches to cliff-top plateaus, via the neo-futuristic gardens of Étretat, all the natural beauty of the city is sublimated in the video for Peter Doherty’s first solo single in nine years.
Felt Better Alive marks the start of the promotion of his new eponymous album, also a tribute to Normandy, a region in which the Briton has lived for several years.
“The songs begin in an idyllic rural setting, the Normandy village in which Peter Doherty and his family live (Étretat, Editor’s note),” we can read on his official website.
And added: “Peter enlisted his friend and producer Mike Moore, who produced Baxter Dury and plays guitar in Liam Gallagher’s band (Oasis, Editor’s note).”
A nod to the HAC?
Result: if no other song has yet been released, we already know that this new album was written with a Norman heart. The number 1 song is called “Calvados”, the fourth “Stade Océan” and the tenth “Priest of the Sea”.
Indeed, the adopted Norman and football fan has already made a notable appearance at the famous Océane stadium, for example, as a HAC supporter proudly wearing the Le Havre jersey.
Peter Doherty’s new album will be released on May 16. With the release of this music video, Peter Doherty also announced a tour. He will perform at the Trianon in Paris on April 26, and tickets will go on sale from Friday January 17, 11 a.m.
