Meydene Production, the new cultural label of the Meydene Theater, announces the organization of two exceptional concerts in tribute to Abdel Halim Hafez, icon of Arab music. Titled Halimiyate: Journey into the masterpieces of Abdel Halim Hafezthis event will take place on February 14 and 19, 2025 in Casablanca and Rabat. This initiative marks Meydene Production’s commitment to broadening its cultural reach beyond its theater in Marrakech, with the ambition of becoming a key player in the Moroccan cultural scene, explain the organizers.
The concert, which will offer a modern reinterpretation of the classics of the famous Egyptian singer, will highlight the voices of Moroccan artists Ayoub Tijani and Youssef Jrifii, accompanied by an orchestra led by maestro Hicham Talmoudi. The orchestra will pay tribute to the great compositions of Abdel Halim Hafez, but also to those of Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Baligh Hamdi and Mohamed El Mougy. The two evenings, scheduled respectively in Casablanca at the Mohamed VI Theater and in Rabat at the Mohamed V Theater, promise fans of traditional Arabic music a musical experience combining nostalgia and modernity.
