Sunday evening in a report on TF1, we discovered the story of Anne, 53, who very sincerely believed she was in a relationship with the American actor on social networks. Thinking she was having a love affair with the star, she was scammed out of 830,000 euros. His mishap caused a lot of reactions, not always with kindness.
Anne’s story was widely mocked on social networks, the report showed the very crude photomontages she received from this fake Brad Pitt. A trained eye would have noticed this but the fifty-year-old is not at all a regular on social networks. She was then going through a difficult time going through a divorce, she was easy prey for these scammers.
Today she is an easy prey to mockery, regrets her lawyer Maître Laurène Hanna. “She is very unwell. I picked up my client on Monday. After the number of injustices she has experienced, there is still a feeling of injustice about what happened on social networks on Sunday evening. Honestly, I’ve had a lot of scam cases like that, there are a lot of people who get fooled“, insists the lawyer. Her client is now hospitalized but she remains combative, she assures.
A legal fight
From now on, Anne wants to try to obtain justice, first on the criminal level. She filed a complaint in Reunion, where she lives. A repentant hacker claims to have found traces of the crook in Nigeria. His lawyer also plans to ask compensation to her client’s bank. She criticizes the establishment for having let her client make these numerous transfers to eccentric bank accounts, squandering her money without ever sending the slightest alert.
In an interview with an American magazine, Brad Pitt’s spokesperson reacted by deploring this type of scam. The reaction matters a lot to Anne and her lawyer. “I thank him very much for speaking out and not staying away from what happened. To say clearly not to respond to any requests is a good act, it could be useful” , assures Maître Laurène Hanna.
Anne plans to speak on Saturday January 18 on M6, during the show La Grande Semaine, presented by Ophélie Meunier.
