Selestat. Four days to discover the latest trends in housing and decoration

From January 17 to 20, the Tanzmatten welcome the 32e edition of the Sélestat habitat deco show. For four days, around a hundred exhibitors, from around forty sectors of activity, will “present the latest trends in housing, renovation and decoration”.

By positioning themselves on the third weekend of January, the organizers are offering “one of the first shows in this area of the year”. A period which was chosen, when the show was created, because it corresponded to “a slow period for the building trades”. “Now we no longer have the bad weather of 30 years ago,” underlines Béatrice Weichel, one of the organizers of the show.

This meeting scheduled early in the year remains a good date for housing and decoration professionals. “This allows exhibitors to collect orders for spring,” says the organizer. Because the Sélestadien show is always frequented by individuals with a construction or renovation project.

Hence the choice, also, to maintain paid entry on Saturday and Sunday (it is free on Friday and Monday). “This allows us to filter the public and limit the people who just come to the show,” says the organizer. The objective is to have aisles that are not crowded, so that exhibitors and visitors can interact with each other in complete peace of mind.

What is the ideal attendance?

If the organizers do not announce a “revolution” for this 32e edition, they remind you that the new products are on the stands. “Every year, there is also a renewal of certain exhibitors, but we favor the historic ones,” indicates Béatrice Weichel. In order to compose the aisles, the organization seeks the right balance between the different trades.

“There must be benefits for each exhibitor,” she assures. For attendance, which was 6,500 visitors in 2024, the organizer estimates that the “good figure is between 6,000 and 7,000”. More than quantity, the Sélestat habitat deco show team wants to attract people to Tanzmatten who are determined to move their project forward.
