We scoured online decoration sites to find decorative nuggets and pieces with powerful DNA, setting the tone in an interior. Several trends are emerging, from the use of shells to a retro inspiration through more fanciful pieces.

The shell lighting, the strong trend

Adorned with an all-over coating or using the shell in its most beautiful form, the shell lighting is more trendy than ever. We like it in its ceramic version designed by Samantha Kerdine but also as a wall light to place against a wall, in its glass structure enhanced with a metallized support.

(very) good retro taste

Vintage influences continue in the world of decoration, and these trendy lighting fixtures play the card of good retro taste. The first, ultra minimalist, displays a stainless steel structure lined with a lampshade which diffuses a slightly subdued light. At Soho Home, the model Cassie combines Indian green marble and shape mushrooman inspiration that comes directly from the 1960s.

The fantasies girly

Inspired by the puffy skirts that first appeared in the haute couture collections of the 1950s (Christian Dior, Balenciaga), the spirit Puffball is featured on trendy lighting. It adorns a lamp found at The Oblist, led by designer Leia Sfez. At The Cool Republic, fantasy takes the form of a tangy pink table lamp from the designers at Crème Atelier — we love it for its playful and uninhibited aesthetic.

Strong reissues

Initially created in 1971 by Verner Panton, the lamp Panthella 250 is one of the iconic pieces in the history of design. It is reissued by Louis Poulsen and invites its strong, organic presence into an interior. At Gubi, the suspension A1972 is a reissue from the 1950s, designed by Finnish designer Paavo Tynell, whose original pieces are very successful at auction houses.
