Senegal comes in thirtieth (30th) position, Egypt in the lead

The American site specializing in defense Global Fire Power (GFP) has published the 2025 edition of the ranking of the most powerful armies in the world which covers 145 countries located on all continents.

The choices are based on more than 60 criteria, including: the number of active military personnel, the number of fighter planes and ships, the availability of fuel for military operations, the budget devoted to defense and logistical flexibility. . The global index, which is updated every year, does not take into consideration nuclear stocks and does not penalize countries that do not have a coastline due to the lack of a naval force.

Thus, Egypt comes to occupy first place in Africa and 19th place globally out of a total of 145 countries studied in this ranking which is based on more than 60 indicators divided into nine categories (human resources, financial resources, geography, land capabilities, naval capabilities, air capabilities, end-use products, natural resources, logistics).
