The cultural service of Châlette-sur-Loing welcomed Claudia Costa, a fado singer. His concert, Saturday evening, at the Hangar, combined traditional Portuguese fado and modern influences.
Although fado is often associated with melancholy themes, there are joyful and festive pieces.
This style of songs can express emotions such as joy, love and celebration. Claudia Costa thus explored all her facets, bringing a variety of emotions.
By including modern influences, the young singer allows fado to evolve while remaining faithful to its roots.
An authentic voice
The voice of the fado does not need to be powerful, but it must be authentic and capable of capturing the essence of fado, whose different atmospheres contribute to the emotion of Claudia Costa’s performance, accompanied by two musicians . The first used a Portuguese guitar, an emblematic instrument of fado. With a total of twelve strings, it produced a bright and distinctive sound.
The second played the classical guitar called “fado viola”, which provides chords and rhythmic patterns.
