Ahe menu for the 22nd edition of the Trente Trente festival, which opens this Wednesday January 15, 22 shows and performances, for the promise of an intense, surprising and daring artistic adventure. Here are five other good reasons, if necessary, to get involved in this unmissable event
1 Singular and hybrid formats
Trente Trente takes its name from the maximum thirty minutes that each creation is supposed to respect. A symbolic constraint giving free rein to daring forms mixing dance, performance, circus, theater, music, poetry, cinema, installation and exhibition.
2 Emerging and international artists
The festival highlights rising talents. Jean-Luc Terrade, its founder, explains: “The idea is to favor those who are starting to gain recognition without yet being massively known. » This year, Fernando Anuang’a (“We are Nomads”, inspired by Maasai dance), the Brazilian Marcelo Nunez (“Pacemaker”) and the Berliner Gertjan Franciscus rub shoulders with local artists like Kevin Malfait, Yacine Sif El Islam, or again Isabelle Jelen and Jérôme Marchand, who joined forces with violinist Tiziana Bertoncini for “Mycophonia”, a creation presented in the form of an installation and concert, inspired by the fascinating underground network of mushrooms, micelium.
3 Explore various places
This edition takes place in eight emblematic and unusual places. If the Manufacture CDN, the Glob Théâtre, the Lerme Market or the TnBA are on the program, more confidential spaces like Les Avants-Poste, the Atelier des marches in Bouscat and the Salle de la Glacière in Mérignac also reserve their share of discoveries. Every Friday and Saturday, tours allow you to discover several shows throughout the evening.
-4 New features not to be missed
This new version focuses on Switzerland with five artists: Coralie Ehinger and her theremin, a fascinating electronic instrument played without contact, Baptiste Cazaux and his cathartic exploration of headbanging, Marc Oosterhoff, as well as the AMA company (Anna-Marija Adomaitytė and Gautier Teuscher) with “Workpiece”, a creation inspired by interviews with fast-food workers. Ève Magot adds to this panorama with a performance and carte blanche dedicated to short films. Two new meetings with the public, on Saturdays January 25 and 1is February, complete this program.
5 An invitation to “be disturbed in beauty”
Rather than a central theme, this edition explores this unifying framework. Jean-Luc Terrade explains: “Each work expresses, in its own way, the struggle to survive in a decomposing society, through poetic propositions, offering multiple perspectives without an imposed vision. »
