O Val, event hosted by the town hall of Pléneuf-Val-André in partnership with the PeeWee label is back this Friday January 17 with Andy Emler and the Megabyte.

It’s been 35 years since Andy created his orchestra, the Megabyte, which is full of awards.

Pianist, singular, surprising and playful composer, often described as the French Franck Zappa, Andy Emler made his orchestra, the Megaoctet, a real laboratory in which participants participated some of the most brilliant soloists of the last 30 years.

Friday evening they will be 9 on stage: Andy Emler on piano, but also a drummer, a bassist, a percussionist who plays all the keyboards (marimba, glockenspiel, Latin percussion, a trumpeter, two saxos, an alto and a tenor “who has a little surprise in store for the Breton public: an improvisation on the bagpipes,” confides Vincent Mahey.


And a tuba, “world famous because he developed a unique technique for playing this instrument”.

With, as always, a small restaurant open from 7 p.m. and a refreshment bar on site.
