What are the main events coming up in Gien and the surrounding towns in 2025?

Gien course fair, Sunday March 23

The oldest agricultural fair in returns for a 1,444th edition, in Gien, in a format identical to 2024. Twenty producers and twelve breeders will be present. An exhibition of tractors and other agricultural machinery is also planned, like every year. The presence of certain animals, due to health risks, is still uncertain.

The Course Fair always attracts young and old.

During the general meeting of the organizing association, the idea of ​​giving the public one or more baskets to win was raised. Musical entertainment is also planned: it could be provided by the sailors of the Fis d’Galarne.

Other associations or organizations, such as the Gien Tourist Office, the Giennois scouts, or the Résilience du pays Giennois collective, will be present. The funfair will take place from Saturday March 15 to Wednesday March 26.

Election of Miss in Gien, Sunday March 30

Who will become Miss Loiret 2025 and will succeed Maëlle Menotti, Miss Loiret 2024? Response on March 30 at the Cuiry room in Gien, in the presence of Angélique Angarni-Filopon, Miss France 2025. Beforehand, a preselection day will take place, on January 25, at the Château de Pont-Chevron in Ouzouer-sur -Trézée.

On March 31, 2024, Maëlle Menotti, a student in developmental psychology, aged 24 and originally from Orléans, was elected Miss Loiret 2024, also at the Salle Cuiry in Gien. She participated in the election of Miss Centre-Val de 2024, but was not elected. It was Tiffanny Haie, originally from Eure-et-Loir, who defended the colors of the region during the Miss France 2025 election.

Historic hours of Sully-sur-Loire, Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18

Each year, more than 1,000 re-enactors, representing around a hundred associations, take part in the Historic Hours in the grounds of the Château de Sully-sur-Loire. Period costumes and typical camps will be out. The opportunity for young and old, passionate or curious, to come and discover or rediscover the history of France through different eras. It is also an opportunity to learn more about parts of history that sometimes remain unknown to visitors. The event will be free and accessible to all.

Street arts festival in Gien, from Friday 4 to
Sunday July 6

Street shows, dance, circus, music and circus dance will be on the program in Gien and Poilly-lez-Gien. This year, we will notably find the Rad’O2 dance troupe, the DJ Rubin Steiner, the hip-hop dancer Amélie Jousseaume, the circus dancer Johan Bichot, a mysterious mascot, and the monumental light installation Color Wheels. All shows will be free and accessible to all.

Blood Festival in Sully-sur-Loire, from Friday 12 to
Sunday September 14

The 28th edition of this hunting and fishing festival will take place in Sully-sur-Loire. This year, the Vendée department will be in the spotlight. Pierre Dubreuil, general director of the national domain of Chambord, will be the guest of honor and will be present in Sully-sur-Loire.

This festival dedicated to hunting, fishing, rural life and gastronomy, has welcomed up to 35,000 visitors in previous years. Several associations will be present. Hunting objects, decorations, musical instruments, clothing, weapons and animals will be discovered.

The Blood Festival will return for a 28th edition.

Municipal elections in Châtillon-sur-Loire, Sundays January 26 and February 2

Following the death of mayor Emmanuel Rat, the town of Châtillon-sur-Loire must organize new municipal elections on January 26 (and February 2 if a second round is necessary). This election will then make it possible to elect a municipal council until spring 2026.

Make way for the stars. Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire, Saturday July 26

The community of municipalities of Val de Sully is organizing its fourth Star Night, on the theme of astronomy. On the program: street shows and entertainment; telescope observation, planetarium and family activities; food trucks, cocktails and local products. From 10 p.m., the Remue-Ménages company will present its light show Legendary. Access to the evening will be free and open to all.

Coullons Humor Festival, from Friday October 3 to Sunday October 5

The 22nd edition of the Humor Festival will take place in the Coullons multipurpose room. On the program: the one-woman show by Bérengère Krief, entitled SexFriday October 3, at 8 p.m., and the one-man show by Olivier de Benoist, entitled The right to happinessSaturday October 4, at 8 p.m. Finally, young talents from Point Virgule, a famous Parisian theater, will close the festival.
