Chaingy. Wishes to the Cambiens: Chaingy resists despite the drop in state funding. Surrounded by municipal elected officials and young councilors, Jean-Pierre Durand presented his wishes to the Cambiens on Thursday, for the first time at the Polyèdre. In a superb setting designed by Christine Framboisier, in the presence of Nicolas Honoré, sub-prefect of Orléans, and numerous elected officials, the mayor spoke of the current difficult context for carrying out the missions.
Chaingy, like thousands of other municipalities, is resisting the continued decline in revenue since the State decided to manage almost all taxation. The elected official commented on the daily reality, which is to always do more with less and to respect standards which sometimes make no sense in the territory; and to cope thanks to deputies, delegated advisors, elected officials and service agents.
Jean-Pierre Durand then returned to the main works carried out in 2024, including the new rainwater evacuation network in the northern sector, the strengthening of the drinking water network in the Poiriers and La Brosse sector, the repair of the rue de la Grolle and rue des Sablons or the rehabilitation of the skate park and the basketball court.
-For the year 2025 and beyond, Chaingy, which has exceeded 4,000 inhabitants, has no shortage of projects: need for a new school restaurant, a larger and more modern community hall, redo the gymnasium floor , restore the local café acquired by the municipality…
The evening continued with a time of friendly discussions, hosted by Florence Hatab, pianist, and Marie Lafargue, singer.
