Saint-Bruno: a show by Philippe Laprise

Philippe Laprise will be at the Center Marcel-Dulude on Friday, January 17. The comedian will propose to Montarvillois Why nothis most recent show which attracted more than 100,000 people.

“Several shows are already sold out or almost, like those of Marthe Laverdière, Philippe Laprise, Matthieu Pepper and Megan Brouillard,”

explains the spokesperson for the City of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Martine Verdon.

In fact, at the time of writing, only 2 of the 450 tickets giving access to Philippe Laprise’s show at the Center Marcel-Dulude remained for sale.

“For the Municipality, the main objective is not so much the speed of sales, but rather to maximize attendance in the rooms during the services,” explains Ms. Verdon.

The comedian from Chambly will not be his first visit to Saint-Bruno. It has also marked the beginning of the new year on at least two other occasions. On February 20, 2015, he was at the Center Marcel-Dulude with his show Sexier than ever. The joker returned on January 19, 2019, this time with his creation I’ll take care of it!.

Why not

Inspired like never before, comedian Philippe Laprise has launched a brand new show, Why nothis fourth in his career.

A significant and unusual event in his life proved to be a real spark for the creation of this new opus. Indeed, this extraordinary experience made him move towards a great openness to new experiences… new experiences that come with multiple twists and turns. With his unique physical ease on stage, Laprise surprises once again with his sense of punch, his colorful facial expressions and his incredible energy.

100,000 tickets sold

Recently, Philippe Laprise reached the magic number of 100,000 tickets sold for his show Why not. A surprise awaited him to highlight the feat. The comedian was going to his agent, Martin Deshaies, of Productions Tram, and when he opened the door, the attack started.

Accompanied by the Ensemble vocal de l’Écluse, Philippe Laprise’s production team sang of his success. “I thought it was for Stéphane (Fallu), Pierre-Luc (Pomerleau) and me for Christmas. I didn’t understand. I then saw my team with the number 100,000,” says the comedian, taken by surprise.

Custom song

For the occasion, we had custom-composed lyrics to the tune of Vive le vent. “I found it funny and comical to see all this beautiful gang there,” he says.

This is not the first time Laprise has reached this number. “It guarantees success. It takes a lot of energy and juice, selling that. It’s a goal that we always want to achieve and I’m always very happy. I am extremely privileged to have the chance to do this job,” said the grateful man, who was heading towards Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean at the time of the interview.

In its environment, this statistic represents success. “It’s also a source of great pride when we look at the existing quantity of shows,” mentions the artist. He has been running this show for almost three years. It only has around fifteen performances left before it is scrapped, including a meeting in Montarville.

After Why not

“It’s the end of something that leads to something else,” describes Philippe Laprise as the end of this professional segment approaches. He won’t rest for long, however. Already, the comedian is working on his fifth show, which he will release in September this year.

He also works on Had to be therean improvisation show with other collaborators, which will be presented in theaters next summer.

It will also be possible to see it in March 2025, on the Évasion channel in the show Phil all-terrain. The outdoor and adventure magazine will allow us to better understand the passion of Quebec quad riders.
