Actress Kim Yaroshevskaya is no more

Kim Yaroshevskaya died on Sunday at the age of 101. Sometimes Fanfreluche, sometimes Grandmother, her voice will have rocked generations of children.

Her death was confirmed by those close to the actress.

Born on 1is October 1923 in the Soviet Union, she arrived in Quebec at the age of 10, then entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Montreal in 1940.

In the 1950s, with her theater troupe Le Grenier, she created the famous character of the Fanfreluche doll. She will subsequently play him on - in the television shows Fafouin, The Surprise Box et Fanfreluche.

From 1977, she took on the character of Grandmother in the cult children’s show Pass-Partout.

In 1998, she published a book of stories, At Petite Kim ; then she published, in 2017, her biography, My trip to America.

She was a recipient of the Order of Canada since 1991.
