The device of artist residencies abroad is an exchange, a system of partnershipswhich actively participates in the dialogue between cultures and the circulation of ideas. A residence, which lasts at least a month, allows creators to immerse themselves in a “ elsewhere » in order to develop a project.
Created in 2018, the Residence Factory has made it possible to finance, organize and develop 40 residency programs in 29 countries. In 2024, seven new projects have been selected, they will benefit from structuring support over three years from 2025.
List of seven new projects which will benefit from support from 2025:
- Extra residences : first network of residences in Belgium, SCAC of the French Embassy in Belgium. Disciplines : digital art, artistic video game, visual arts, design, crafts
- Villa N’Zuo, French Institute of Ivory Coast. Disciplines : visual arts, curatorial practices, design
- Creacolombia, Artist residencies in Colombia, French Institute of Colombia. Disciplines : literature, comics, visual arts, dance, urban arts
- Ateliers du Nile, French Institute of Egypt. Disciplines : crafts, architecture/heritage, new digital creations, art curating
- New Grand Tour / French Institute of Romania : a professional residency program intended for French artists who have recently graduated from art schools. Discipline : visual arts
- New Grand Tour, French Institute of Italy. Discipline : multidisciplinary
- Se plug nature, Alliance Française of San José in Costa Rica. Disciplines : visual arts, digital arts, sound creations, sound art, sound designn
