A cocktail of cultural events punctuates the calendar until summer

The municipality unveiled its artistic program this Friday in Castel. Once again there will be something for everyone. Here is a sample of celebrations not to be missed.

In the sky of events in , the Cultural Galaxy seems to have taken a step forward. After a few years of running-in, the long-term work carried out by the cultural assistant Corinne Poléri and the cultural service led by Frank Janik seems to be paying off. In any case, this Friday evening, in the Rotonde room in Castel, we felt more than the simple presentation of the cultural program for the first half of 2025. Is it the presence of the duo Tradi Mezzo, violin and guitar which musically and pleasantly open then closed in the evening? Or the voice very widely given to the cultural actors of the territory, who came in very large numbers? In any case, there was a lot of enthusiasm, sharing and fun for an hour. A successful and promising introduction both for the rich cultural semester presented and for the future. Some dates.

Comics take hold with exhibition and festival

Since the arrival of the La Malle bookstore in Bulles and Nicolas Mallet, a year and a half ago, on rue de la Libération, comics have found their feet in Lunel. After Itinerary in a Stroke by Stéphane Sénégas last year, from January 18, the Espace Feuillade is reconnecting with pencils and bubbles until March 15 thanks to the Les spectaculars exhibition. A trip to La Belle Époque thanks to Régis Hautière and Arnaud Poitevin. This will be followed on March 1 and 2 by the first comic book festival in Castel, which is being prepared by the designer Claude Pellet with Nicolas Mallet. Around fifteen authors, an exhibition, meetings and conferences are announced. The poster will be signed Arnaud Poitevin.

Flowerbed at the Médard Museum

After the historic success of the exhibition dedicated to Jean Hugo, the Médard museum will reopen its doors on April 2 with a double summer exhibition. From April 2 to September 22, on the 1st floor, the museum will offer “The language of flowers”, a journey around flowers, gardens, with herbaria, botanical works… “We are going to show the richness and fragility of plant species”indicated director Valérie-Alice Dumoulin. The exhibition will be supplemented, from May 14, by another concerning bookbindings (on the ground floor) in connection with the 6th international prize for art binding organized by the Friends of the Médard fund and whose theme is, this year, “Enchanted bindings, the plant imagination”. Please note that before reopening its doors, the museum joins forces, as it does every year, with the AB bookstore and the media library on the occasion of Reading Night from January 23 to 26 on the territory of Lunel Agglo and at the media library. And Valérie-Alice Dumoulin also announced a new event around heritage, to be discovered at the museum, on April 12 with, in particular, a presentation of the latest work acquired.
