Motocultor Festival in Carhaix: 60 names have already been revealed

The 2025 edition of the Motocultor Festival welcomes the public from Thursday August 14 to Sunday August 17 in Carhaix (29). Nearly seven months before the metal event, 60 names have already been revealed out of the 110 planned. We tour the artists and groups who will perform on one of the four Motoc’ stages.

Headlining legends

Among the already known headliners, in particular, the Americans from the groove metal group Machine Head will ignite the public of the Kerampuilh plain on Sunday and the musicians from the legendary Boston group Extreme will set the stage on fire on Saturday. Added to this are the Norwegians Dimmu Borgir and their symphonic black metal, the Scottish post-rock group Mogwai, Kerry King, notably known for having co-founded the thrash metal group Slayer, and the Faroese artist Eivør.

The line-up continues with the Finns of Finntroll (folk metal), the Italians of Fleshgod Apocalypse (symphonic death metal), the Japanese of Envy (post-rock), the Italians of Lacuna Coil (gothic metal), the Swedes from Thrown (metalcore), the New Yorkers from Imperial Triumphant (experimental metal), the Americans from Forbidden (thrash metal) but also the Norwegian Ihsahn (founder from the group Emeror), the Germans from Blind Guardian (power metal), the Americans from Fear Factory (industrial metal), etc.

The French scene represented

Return to with the Bordelais of the post-metal group Year Of No Light (YONL), the Saint-Etienne group Benighted (brutal death), the Marseillais of Landmvrks (metalcore/punk), the Parisiens of Houle (melodic black metal ) but also Wampas, Poesie Zero, Hangman’s Chair etc.

The return of Magma

Announced as the opening of the 2024 edition, the Magma band was forced to cancel its show the day before its arrival – its drummer had broken his elbow!. The progressive rock group is once again scheduled for the first day of the festival.

After the supercharged show of the former Musclé and club Dorothée Bernard Minet in 2024, place for a new UFO which will convince metalheads “from 5 to 125 years old”, Helldebert. The “evil twin” of Aldebert, better known for his children’s songs and his texts full of humor, will present on Thursday the rock and metal universe of his opus “Enfantillage 666” in an undoubtedly family and excited atmosphere.

Motocultor Festival, from Thursday August 14 to Sunday August 17, 2025, on the Kerampuilh site, in Carhaix. Prices: 1 day pass, normal, €71.50; VIP, €132; 4-day pass, normal, €195; VIP, €274. Online ticketing on the Motocultor website. Since Motocultor 2024, the festival no longer offers 3-day passes.
