Rio 77 comes directly from Brazil and MPB, Música Popular Brasileira. A rich and immense repertoire from which Rio 77, a mix of Brazilian, French and English musicians, has drawn to build Culture and Civilization.

By bringing back this 70s’ selectionRio 77 left the temporal cursor in its place, to act only on that of aesthetics. Funk and jazz are at the service of the singer Paula Mirhanof Thomas Renwickguitarist of the Parisian jazz funk scene, trumpeter Rubinho Antunes (Hermeto Pascoal, Marcos Valle, Milton Nascimiento, Gilberto Gil, Criollo), by Rui Barossi (Tom Zé). The Rio 77 group is completed by two Parisian blowers, Matthew Huteau et François Morinthe London pianist Dave O’Brien et Mauro MartinsBrazilian drummer who regularly accompanies Toquinho and Tania Maria.

In short, it’s the casual class of a linen suit on a hot carioca evening, still barefoot to dance on the sand.
