The Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Carnival returns in 2025 with two and a half months of festivities under the theme “Recycle and transform”. Between traditions and innovations, the cultural capital of western Guyana promises unforgettable moments with a royal opening, spectacular parades and a focus on sustainability.
The Saint-Laurent Carnival will officially open on Sunday January 19, 2025. Faithful to tradition, the event will be marked by the arrival of the Prince of the West, representative of the King of Carnival, to receive the keys to the city.
This symbolic ceremony will take place between the Town Hall and the emblematic site of La Roche Bleue, which has become the heart of the festivities. Before the official arrival of the Prince, the streets of Saint-Laurent will already be lively, giving free rein to the spontaneity of the carnival-goers.
