The government says it has noted a “worrying increase in the number of fans” wishing to attend concerts, sporting events or others “faced with professional resellers who accumulate tickets and resell them at much higher prices,” according to a press release.
The executive is also concerned about “the lack of transparency on the dynamic pricing system”, a practice which concerns official ticket sellers and consists of adjusting prices according to demand.

In the following days, Oasis fans who wanted to buy tickets encountered dynamic pricing on official sites which caused prices to soar while prices sometimes reached thousands of euros on non-resale sites. officials.

Tickets on these types of platforms can be resold for up to six times the original price, the government said in its press release.
London is launching a public consultation on Friday on certain proposals, such as a cap on the price of resale tickets, in a range from the original price to an increase of 30%, or a limitation on the number of tickets that resellers will be able to offer.
At the same time, the government intends to gather the opinions of players in the sector on practices such as dynamic pricing to ensure that “the current system offers sufficient protection against abusive practices”.
