Joël Dicker takes up children’s literature

Change of register for the Geneva writer, who is preparing to publish The very disastrous visit to the zoo in March, under the label of his own publishing house, Rosie & Wolfe.

Readers of Joël Dicker, accustomed to his thrillers, might be a little surprised by the release of his next book. This new novel, entitled The very disastrous visit to the zoomarks a change of direction for the Genevan writer, who this time ventured into the field of children’s literature.

This novel will be published on March 4, 2025 by Rosie & Wolfe, the publishing house that Joël Dicker founded in Geneva. The author announced this new project on Instagram. “It’s a very important book for me that I will tell you about soon,” he wrote on his social networks.

True to its style, the plot revolves around a mystery, with an investigation carried out by a class of special children following the flooding of a school, caused by a criminal act.

After experiencing resounding success at the age of 27 with his second novel, The Truth about the Harry Quebert affair (2012), Joël Dicker has had a string of bestsellers, mainly with detective novels set in the United States. His latest work, A wild animalpublished in February 2024, has become one of the best sellers of the year.
