This Thursday evening, a documentary film looks back on the dizzying rise of Cyril Lignac

It’s the story of a little guy Aveyronattached to his roots, grandson of a miner and not really happy at school, who was never destined to become a starred chef… We now understand better the title of the feature-length documentary dedicated to him, this Thursday, January 9 in the eveningon the antenna of M6, a channel which brought him to the rank of star of French television. “Cyril Lignac: what are we going to do with you? » looks back at the atypical journey of this cooking enthusiast.

A star of cooking shows

Co-produced by its own audiovisual company, this documentary film was directed by Sophie Jeaneau and Magali Debrabandère. He reveals the success-story from the famous chef “greedy, crunchy”who has 3.7 million followers on Instagram.

After learning from big names in cooking, Cyril Lignac took part in his first TV show in 2005 on M6 with “Yes Chief!” »before taking part in the first season of “Top Chef”as a member of the jury, in 2010.

A determined man

Eleven years later, he opened his first restaurant abroad, Le Bar des Présin the heart of London. It is at this moment that the documentary cameras land on him, filming his daily life at work and behind the scenes of his life.

During this story, the testimonies of his family, his friends and his collaborators follow one another, painting the portrait of a determined maneager to break the rules and who had to overcome obstacles to establish himself on the gastronomic scene.
