Despite a colossal musical offering across the Channel and across the Atlantic, in 2024, the French have favored French artists. According to the ranking of the National Phonographic Publishing Union (SNEP) which has just been published, the albums which have been sold the most in France are the work of local musicians.
The first place in this top 200 is thus occupied by the rapper from Montreuil Werenoi for his record Pyramid 2followed by Parisian rapper PLK for Room 140 then Indochine and its album Babylon Babylon.

In total, 18 of the 20 best-selling records are tricolor, accounting for more than 14 million physical CDs sold. French success is also illustrated on streaming platforms, where French artists have gleaned 138 billion streams in 2024, which represents an increase of 14% compared to 2023.
