An author in writing residency at the Paul-Arène high school in Sisteron

One of the definitions of an artistic residency specifies that it is a time and a place which allows “an artist-author to devote time to creation outside his usual living and working environment, in a work space made available to him“.

“See them think”

This is how, thanks to the Durance theater and the school, Anne Rehbinder, author, photographer and artistic co-director, will be in a writing residency at the Paul-Arène high school in Sisteron for a week. It will offer four workshop sessions and a vigil.

She is one of our long-term artists“, underlines the Durance theater, “these artists with whom we have decided to enter into a partnership for an undefined period of time and to invent, create, experiment with projects together, with several hands“.

Last May, she was at the André-Honnorat school campus in Barcelonnette to collect the words of high school students around questions of identity, power and the common good in the establishment: how to think, dream, question, reinvest and take over the high school territory? “I want to raise questions and hear from these young people. See them think, shake up the frameworks, question their environment, their possibilities, their areas of power“.

From January 13 to 17, she will lead this same writing and creation laboratory at the Paul-Arène high school.
