Renowned for its classical music concerts, the Connaissance association of young performers celebrates the New Year each year with a festive concert, in the Pergola room, in partnership with the Vega Baja association. The concert on January 18, at 6 p.m., will take the audience to distant Argentina and other Latin countries, thanks to the Roberta Roman Trio.
In 1996, guitarist Roberta Roman formed her tango trio, bringing together guitar, bandoneon and cello. This offers an original repertoire, with subtle writing. With this ensemble, Roberta performs alongside internationally renowned artists and in numerous film and radio productions. She participates in several musical projects – “Affiches tango”, “Io, Édith Piaf”, “Tarantus”, “Fruits ripes”, “Connection Buenos Aires” – as well as in broadcasts on France Musique.
Three women, three personalities, three cultures
With an Italian, Roberta Roman; an Argentinian, the bandoneonist Marisa Mercadé, and a Frenchwoman, the cellist Michelle Pierre, the international trio, based in Paris, offers an original musical journey, through the complicity between popular and scholarly music. The originality of the trio lies in its melodies, rhythms and refined harmonies. His interpretive solutions combine irony and sensuality, sobriety and sentimental abandon, energy and delicacy. His repertoire embraces the tango of the origins, the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla, as well as the works written especially for him.
-For almost thirty years, the Roberta Roman Trio has performed on stages around the world and shared the bill with internationally renowned artists such as Pink Martini, Richard Galliano, Gotan Project… Its concerts have been broadcast by Radio France, Rai Italy and Mexican Radio-TV.
Saturday January 18, at 6 p.m., at the Pergola. A meal will be offered at the end of the concert (reservation required before January 14). Price: concert alone, 20 euros; concert and meal, 37 euros. Information and reservations on 05 53 01 25 79.
