The 33-year-old actor had just started his career in cinema when he began a relationship with the singer in 2016, which he separated from in April 2023.

Asked if he ever worried that his relationship with Taylor would overshadow his career, he told the Guardian: “I tried to focus on what I could control. And, from the beginning, I’ve tried to focus on the things that are important to me: friends, family, work, of course. Other than that, I think I did what a lot of people who find themselves in the spotlight do, which is try to ignore it all. If you don’t do that, and you let all these other things come in, and it starts to affect you and change your behavior, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty screwed. »

The “Hamnet” star also said he keeps his feet on the ground thanks to the family and friends around him and suggested he views his home life and professional life as two “different” things.

He said: “I have great family and friends and real things in my life. That’s what keeps me grounded.”
