Banff Mountain Film Festival goes on tour again

“Composed of nine films, this year’s program focuses on the power, beauty and resilience of human nature. Its fragility is also part of the landscape because if the exploit and the mastery are in all the films, the risk of tipping towards the drama is just as much. In certain films, this cohabitation of the sublime and the catastrophe also reveals the precariousness of the environment where these expeditions are carried out,” explains Stéphane Corbeil, founder of the udanakaï media production company, in a press release.

Around a hundred films were viewed to arrive at this selection, the total duration of which is around two and a half hours. Spectators will be able to follow kayaking, skiing and mountain biking trips, among other things. All in landscapes as splendid as those of the Rockies, the Dolomites and the glaciers of Svalbard, Norway.

The programming is presented in the original version, with French subtitles where applicable.

Tickets are sold at a unit cost of $28.50 for the Granby performance. The Quebec tour will then pass through 23 other cities, including Gatineau (February 2), Sherbrooke (February 4), Trois-Rivières (February 8), Quebec (February 9-10) and Jonquière (February 21).

Note that around twenty photos taken from the AKOR 2024 expedition, carried out across the three Canadian territories, will be presented in the foyers of the different rooms.
