Despite the recent events that have shaken the city, Dakar held its first municipal council this Thursday. At the end of this meeting, Ngoné Mbengue, Barthélémy Dias’ replacement, addressed the advisors.
“The current context of Dakar City Hall prevented us from meeting the Municipal Council, which was nevertheless convened last week. It was only today that we were able to access City Hall to study certain points, such as the adoption of the 2025 budget. she said.

Before adding: ‘It is our right to work because we were elected by the people of Dakar. We were chosen from thousands of people and it is our duty to meet the expectations of these populations.’
‘I am sending a message to the Municipal Council: there should only be one political party here, and that is Dakar. Everything we have achieved, from Khalifa Sall to Barthélémy Dias, to whom I pay vibrant tribute, including Soham Wardini, we have always been able to bring peace and stability to this Council,” recalled Ngoné Mbengue.

She asks all advisors to work only to satisfy the populations. “Dakar belongs to all of us. We were not elected for our beautiful eyes or because we are more intelligent or better educated than others,” she continues in a video used by the SeneNews editorial staff.
