Orson Claeys, «W.A.R»
It is a notable entry into the world of jazz that the young pianist Orson Claeys makes with his first EP, Odyssey to Self. At just 25 years old, the Belgian musician impresses with the quality of his arrangements and the depth of his compositions. The title W.A.R. for “Where Ancestors Rest” is an ode to his grandfather in which his jazz merges with the oriental sounds of the oud. The melodic richness of this beautiful introduction to the Arabic instrument, joined by the piano and reinforced by the melancholic countersongs of the trumpet, demonstrates all its finesse in the choice of textures. A name to follow very closely.

Edward Perraud, “Celestial Lights”
An essential drummer and composer on the French jazz scene, Edward Perraud has the discretion and modesty of the greats. From shadow to dawna new trio album with Arnault Cuisinier on double bass and Bruno Angelini on piano, unfolds a universe entirely in chiaroscuro. After two albums which explored space and time, the musician here takes up the question of light. Master of blanks and silences, also photographer, Edward Perraud turns into a conjurer. Enigmatic, soaring, his music proceeds with touches of brilliance and emptiness. Far from being afraid of it, the trio provokes it, rushing into it to reveal songs and reverse shots.
