TF1 and Star Academy production published a severe call to order on December 23, 2024. The attitude of viewers is in fact being singled out.
The Star Academy class of 2023 was marked by kindness and mutual assistance between candidates. The young artists were adored by the public, like the winner Pierre Garnier, the semi-finalist Héléna Bailly or the young Léonie, eliminated prematurely from the adventure. The proof: they are all a hit in their solo careers. But, despite the positive messages conveyed throughout their weeks spent at the castle of Dammaries-les-Lys, viewers do not show indulgence with their successors;
During this Star Academy 2024 season, hate messages were not rare on social networks. Marine complains too much, Ebony is too ambitious, Marguerite is too politicized… The remarks are pouring out, and things have gone too far for production and TF1. So much so that they published a press release calling viewers to order.

TF1's message to Star Academy viewers
On the Star Academy Instagram account, a post was published this Monday, December 23, 2024 to provide a clear and precise update. In the caption, we can read: “Important reminder. THANKS”. On the image, text explains: “Some hateful comments are circulating on social networks against Star Academy students”. He continues: “These attacks on these young artists who share their passion and live their dream are unacceptable and punishable by law.”.
TF1 and production specify: “You like Star Academy for the kindness that emerges from it, the solidarity and cohesion that characterize the show”. They regret: “It is in this spirit that we invite you to convey these same values in your exchanges on social networks”. And the message continues with a warning: “TF1 and Endemol France will report any hate campaign against candidates and reserve the right to take any legal action”.

Racism mentioned by Internet users
The message from TF1 and Endemol regarding the Star Academy was welcomed by many Internet users, including TV hook theater professor Hughes Hamelynck, who commented: “It's a plus!”. Actress Nadège Beausson Diagne also reacted: “Merci”. But this does not go far enough for the taste of some, who criticize the production for not directly evoking discrimination and racism of which Ebony would be a victim in particular. This indeed follows a petition launched on the Change.org website today: “Stop trivialized racism against Ebony, Star Academy 2024/2025 candidate“.

Other fans of the program prefer to correct: they do not attack the candidates but the production, which would rig the game according to them. There would be favoritism. Others consider that the message comes too late, 2023 candidates like Djebril and Alex having suffered homophobia, and Candice racism. The tone is now set: TF1 will not accept such comments.
