Ralph Fiennes recounts his meeting with Charles III on the set of James Bond: “The atmosphere has changed”

MI6 Agent M, a.k.a. Ralph Fiennes in the latest films James Bond, did not give up in the face of Charles III. During an interview for the magazine Peoplepublished on December 22, the British actor recounted his meeting with the king (at the time still Prince of Wales) on the set of James Bond: No Time to Die in Iver Heath, England on June 20, 2019.

King Charles was “warm” and “charming” and their interactions were “simple,” Ralph Fiennes recalled. “The atmosphere changes when members of the royal family visit a film set. Even though literally no one is silent, there is a kind of inner restraint,” explained Ralph Fiennes. “Royalty provokes a whole range of reactions,” he continued, referring to those who say, “Oh shit, the Prince of Wales is coming. What a hassle” and those who are completely overexcited. In September 2021, Charles III attended the premiere of the film in London. He was accompanied by his wife Camillaof prince William and of Kate Middleton.

How royal families celebrate Christmas

The British royal family

From summoning members of the extended family to Buckingham Palace for a pre-Christmas lunch (including the Kents, Gloucesters and others) to gathering the main band at Sandringham for church service on December 25, the traditions of Britain's own royal family are well known. What's less talked about are the more intimate family traditions, from “pranks and jokes” Christmas gifts to the annual football match between Prince William and Prince Harry… which is unlikely to take place again this year . No more than an entire family: Prince Andrew, entangled in a new scandal this time with an English spy, will be persona non grata at Sandringham.

And James Bond: No Time to Die is the last film in which Daniel Craig appears in 007, we do not yet know if Ralph Fiennes will be in the casting of the next part of the saga. For his part, Ben Whishaw, who plays the role of Agent Q, told the BBC (via Deadline) last September that he considered his return as well as that of the rest of the cast unlikely. “I think they're going to start from scratch, with an entirely new cast. That's my intuition anyway, but I don't know. I have no idea. I think that [la saga] needs a new lease of life and a whole new group of people. But if I were offered [de revenir]I would of course,” he said.
