He is preparing to make his comeback on the small screen. To promote “Bigdil” which will return to the RMC Story channel from January 2 at 9:10 p.m., Vincent Lagaf' was the guest of the show “On refait la télé”, Saturday December 21, on RTL. The opportunity for him to also talk about his relationship with TF1, the amount he receives in retirement, or the day he almost killed Gérard Vives.
“They agree for me to host this show?”
During the exchange, the former star host of TF1 was questioned about the reasons why he did not want to be a candidate in “Mask Singer”. He said: “'Mask Singer', I refused because we left angry with Hervé Hubert… He produces “Mask Singer”. I wrote it in my book. One day, he called me and said: “Vincent, I bought the rights to a show which is a worldwide hit. I would like to talk to you about it”. So I go up to Paris and he says to me: “Here, I’ll show you here. We watch the thing in Korean and I said: “Yeah, it’s good but TF1, do they agree for me to host this show?”.
At the microphone of RTL, Vincent Lagaf' outbid: “And he said to me: “Ah no no, but it’s Camille Combal who runs it”. “Ah okay so I’m part of the jury?” “No you, I would like you to sing dressed as a fridge or a zucchini”. I said to him: “After two golden 7s, 2500 broadcasts, the fortune you made because I opened the TV door for you, are you asking me to sing disguised as a fridge? I told him, “You know what, I'm going to leave before I go over the desk and make you eat the inkwell”.
Responding to these comments, radio journalist Eric Dussart asked: “But he, who knows you so well, couldn't imagine that you were going to feel offended by this proposition?”. The one who made himself known thanks to “The Class” said: “Hervé Hubert is above all a producer. I think and I say it, it's for me in my time – now, I don't know because I'm less in the business – but he's the best producer there could be. He's a guy and that's what I say in the book: “You go into his office with an idea, you come out with his.” He is the best diplomat, he is the best negotiator!”.

Faced with Jade, who co-hosts “We are remaking TV” with him, Eric Dussart told Vincent Lagaf: “But don't you think it was a trial balloon to get you back as a host, just to retest your image with the public? Isn't that what you think they had in mind?”. The former presenter of “Fair Price” on the front page then responded regarding Hervé Hubert: “But he should have said it… I didn't hear it, he didn't say it, he didn't imply it. So yeah when I was asked to sing dressed as a fridge, I said: “Is he kidding me or what?”. We did shows where we released the air to 6 million viewers and today you want me to go and sing in the fridge…”.
