If you were there, last Sunday September 8, among the 8,000 spectators gathered at Place du Capitole, then you undoubtedly remember these few words from Claude Nougaro… They resonated at the opening of the concert, an instant before Natalie Dessay began, at the alongside the Orchester national du Capitole, the most emblematic title of Claude Nougaro, the famous “O Toulouse”.

And honestly, what better way to start?

For this vibrant tribute dedicated to the twenty years since the death of the singer (who passed away on March 4, 2004 at the age of 74), Yvan Cassar and Yvan Cujious have imagined a colorful symphonic concert bringing together a fine range of big names from the French scene.

Among the artists gathered to sing Nougaro, alongside the Orchester national du Capitole: Ben l'Oncle Soul, Bénabar, Cali, Nolwenn Leroy, Bigflo et Oli, Anne Sila, Cats on Trees, Mouss et Hakim, Jean-Pierre Mader , Fabian Ordonez, Nicolas Courjal and even Pierre Guénard.

Everyone comes on stage to reinterpret, in their own way, the key titles of the Toulouse jazz master. Of “O Toulouse” has “Armstrong”passing through “Cécile my daughter”, “Jazz and Java”, “I'm under”, “Sing Sing Song”, “Tu verras” or even “The Rooster and the Clock”.
