On stage, the Snow Queen meets Spider-man, Captain America, Jack Sparrow and even Cleopatra's lion! When the red curtain rises, a veritable toy box comes to life on stage. The performers dance, act, sing, for a show far from the traditional cabaret.

No revue dancers, light outfits, or feathers, the performance is adapted to the Wednesday audience: children. In Renaison in the , the Cabaret “L'Élegance” opens its doors to young audiences for a Christmas show.

“We make adults, men or women, dream, there is no reason not to also make children aged 3 to 12 dream.”highlights Frédérick Arno, the co-director of the cabaret. In Renaison, the recipe is not new: “We’ve been doing shows for children for 30 years, but this is the first year that we’re doing several shows created by our own team here.”underlines the co-director.

We put glitter in the eyes of children and our artists, who are not that old, it also makes them dream.

A year of preparation was necessary to create this show from scratch. With a well-established and seasonal scenario, the artists set off in search of the missing Santa Claus. During the show, it's impossible to miss the Disney hit that's still timeless, even 11 years after its release: “Liberated, Delivered”, from the film “Frozen”, which gets the young audience up and dancing.

“It’s so cool, the children are super receptive, we have their energy” smiles Nina Liengme, dancer artist, who plays the queen with magical powers. ” It’s nice to change the audience and the magazine.” For this show, the dancers only change three times, compared to twelve for the revue!

“We have to think about the interaction between artists and children, what will make them react”, explains Guillaume Besacier, artist and director who dons the costume of the pirate Jack Sparrow for this Christmas show. ” Our job is to give happiness. “

At the end of the show, all is well: Santa Claus is found with the help of the children. “There is everything, for children, for adults, there was dancing, singing, lights everywhere, it was wonderful”exclaims Aurélie, who came with little Charlyne.

Success is there. The last show before Christmas is already sold out. And no rest for the artists. Once the curtain falls on the Musical for Children, we already have to think about what's next. The traditional cabaret remains eagerly awaited for the end-of-year celebrations.
