The Little Singers of the Valley of Man are preparing to perform in Japan in 2025

Many residents of the Vallée de l'Homme and surrounding areas came to Les Eyzies on Sunday, December 15, to attend the Christmas concert. The elegantly decorated peasant market was full.

Three different ensembles, led by Guillaume Devin, choir director, and accompanied on the piano by his companion of Japanese origin, Ayano, offered remarkable performances.

The oldest, the choir of the Vallée de l'Homme, which is gradually growing, performed a beautiful extract from Vivaldi's “Gloria” and sang “La Valse à mille temps” in an extremely precise manner.

The choir of elected officials present

The choir of elected officials from the Vallée de l'Homme, a transpartisan group of elected artists, also performed. After several rehearsals during the year, they took pleasure in being in front of an audience united with them by the power of the music and the emotion it produces. It would be the only elected choir in to rehearse and play in concert regularly.

Its impact on the motivation of the Little Singers of the Vallée de l'Homme is also very positive. The children see that they are not the only ones making significant efforts to give the best of themselves and this makes them proud. The work is demanding, but the results are more and more satisfying each year.

Osaka World Expo

At the end of the afternoon, they brilliantly performed pieces that were very difficult to sing, such as these extracts from Offenbach operettas which require good breathing and diaphragmatic breathing. The white voice of the solos was impressively pure and the voices of the ensemble had a lot of charm.

After two years of work, the little ones will have a magnificent reward. They will be on stage in Japan, in July 2025, as part of the Osaka World Expo. Ambassadors of Périgord Noir, they will offer film songs, with young people from Aubusson (Creuse) and Japanese children. This will be a first at the France Pavilion.
