Ready to get goosebumps? Le festival Waterproof takes the plunge once again this year and launches its sixth edition devoted entirely to the danse. From January 17 to February 1, 2025performances, workshops, dancefloors, dance marathon, expos or even professional meetings will punctuate the Breton capital. In total, a hundred meetings will be given. Among them, some will be free.

[SLO] with the Lucane Company

Pour inaugurate the launch of the festivalSaturday January 18, 2025 at 11 a.m., the Compagnie Lucane will launch into un slow right within Rennes station. Slowfor dancing in pairs obviously, but slow also, for a dance where we take the time to to slow down.

For this special day, the public is invited to dance. But Compagnie Lucane also organizes workshops where it will be possible to create, with them, a multiplied version of their duet:

A festival led by several

The festival is co-led by Danse à tous les stages, L'Intervalle, l'Opéra de Rennes, Le Triangle.

Waterproof is also the subject of a co-construction between 30 partners from the Pays de Rennes with a few new ones this year: “Les Champs Libres de Rennes, Confluence in Betton, Destination Rennes, Rennes station and the Théâtre de la Parcheminerie “, lists Natacha Le Fresne, director of Dance on all floors.

Junior Sound Corps

An artistic practice workshop is offered to the public mixing dance and care. Fabien Almakiewicz will offer a session combining massage and composition of landscapes sound, olfactory et visuals.

The show (paid) by Massimo Fusco, Junior Sound Bodies – Magnetic Bodieswill be available on Sunday January 19, Tuesday January 21 and Wednesday January 22 at Lillico, Guy Ropartz room in Rennes (more information here). The public is invited, for this show, to settle on an island of gale cushions bathed in a layer of sound.

Blind dreams

In another register, Thierry Micouin, choreographer and performer, will perform on stage with a dance called Blind dreams.

At the age of 27, I lost the use of my left eye and part of my right eye following an accident. Quickly, I noticed that very luminous, colorful and sparkling geometric shapes, circles, hexagons, kaleidoscopes, suddenly appeared and disappeared in front of me. These images that came from outside were beyond any control.

Thierry Micouin

A dance in alone from an experience bodily et bright, inspired by Charles Bonnet syndromemade of specific visual hallucinations.

Another solo, that of Jean-Baptiste André, who invites acrobatic forms on stage and in particular hand balancing. A specialty of this artist Circassian.

Phasmatodea

With PhasmatodeaFabien Almakiewicz will deliver a performance, alone on stage. “A hybrid work, between dance, installation and artistic performance while drawing inspiration from the material, construction gestures and our connection to space. »

Garrrrrj

This show will be produced by Aëla Labbé of the Compagnie Lucane. A solo “oceanic rock, visual et sensory » where “wind, water and gargles will be there”.

This solo will be followed by a workshop Dance your ocean rockon pieces of Lou Reed or even Patti Smith.

Wednesday January 29 to 4:30 p.m. at the Triangle Library. Reservations are recommended with the Triangle library on 02 23 62 26 95. From 18 months. The show lasts 30 minutes and the workshop, 20 minutes.

Live from Mercedes Dassy

Dancer and choreographer Mercedes Dassy will present songs from his show Spongebabe in L.A. (4 Love & Anxiety).

See you Wednesday January 29 at the Aire Libre theater in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande from 10 p.m.

His (paid) show Ruuptuur will be presented Tuesday January 28 and Wednesday January 29.
