In , adapted physical activity improves the well-being of young pediatric oncology patients

The “La vie en rose BZH” association works to promote physical activity as a key element in the healing process but also to prevent illness and improve well-being. Thursday December 19, 2024, Nadine Enjalbert, its president, presented a check for €20,000 to the pediatric oncology department of the university hospital center (CHU) of .

Valentin’s great idea

Via the hospital's endowment fund, Innoveo, this sum will allow the continuation of the Health Booty operation. “It’s a sports-health program adapted for hospitalized children, inspired by Valentin, a 14-year-old patient with a passion for handball, who died too early. Although his dream could not come true during his hospitalization, Valentin had expressed the wish that other children could benefit from the benefits of sport to regain the desire to move and become actors in their healing,” testifies the first of the volunteers.

Thanks to these initiatives, we prove that young people, through their energy, solidarity and sense of effort, can change lives.

Since then, hospitalized children have benefited from an adapted sports activity program during their stay, but also upon their discharge in order to help them return to an active and peaceful life. Fanny Buannic, adapted physical activity educator, works in pediatric oncology two half-days a week, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

More than €100,000 paid

“We can count on the unconditional support of the association which has been at our side since its creation in 2019. More than €100,000 has already been paid, including today's financial support,” adds Florence Saint-cas, director of Brest University Hospital Innoveo endowment fund.

The twenty volunteers of the association are also organizing the fourth edition of the Bonne Escapee, a sporting, human and united adventure, partner of the great national cause 2024. Mobilizing young people from all over , the cycling challenge route will leave on May 12, 2025, pass through and reach on June 4, with an emblematic stage in Finistère, from Morlaix to Saint-Renan. “Thanks to these initiatives, we prove that young people, through their energy, their solidarity and their sense of effort, can change lives,” rejoice the four founders of the structure, including the current president, with Florence Boyé, Laurence Lagadec and Sophie Le Moal.
