A baking class

To mark the six years of the Mademoiselle Chou bakery and pastry shop, Hervé Le Barzic is organizing pastry classes. Young and old are invited to get their hands dirty.

A workshop for children (9 to 14 years old) is organized on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (45 euros). For adults, Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (80 euros), and a more technical session on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (110 euros).

The sessions bring together a maximum of six students to allow everyone to practice. “It’s a profession of transmission, I share my know-how, the techniques and my recipes,” underlines the artisan.

A climbing session

What if you offered a gift voucher for rock climbing or yoga classes? In the Capucins workshops, Climb up offers several options. Like the ten access card: ten entries to the climbing gym or ten yoga classes in the La Bulle studio, Passage des Arpètes.

Another proposition that parents and grandparents like: supervised activities for children. “A one-hour climbing course with an instructor, either in a group or individually,” explains Julien Valeriano, the director.

A fanny pack

For the holidays, Christelle Eveno opened a pop-up store in the city center of Brest, at 44 rue Jean-Macé. Until January 4, she presents her textile creations, including her flagship product: the fanny pack (52 euros). “It’s very trendy,” says the Finistère woman, based in Saint-Eloy. One item at a time, “super practical and fashion accessory”.

The designer creates unique pieces, playing with fabrics and colors. Velvet models are particularly popular.

A beautiful book

Illustrated with 300 postcards from the beginning of the 20th centurye century, from municipal archives and private collections, Brest of yesteryear is the work of Mathilde Jounot, journalist, Breton and passionate about her region. In which she tells the big and small history of Brest via texts accessible to all. An invitation to (re)discover the city of Ponant before the bombings of the Second World War. By surveying the left bank, then the old suburbs, the right bank and the ports. The last chapter concerns the daily life of Brestois in 1900.
