While the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France will be played on Saturday December 21 and Sunday December 22, viewers will discover a new series combining Sunday football and music. Six episodes of format court will meet artists passionate about football in amateur stadiums of their city.

One of them was filmed in May 2024has Pré-en-Pailin Mayenne, with the participation of an artist and former player of the USP club: Olivier Lebreton.

Former player and musician

Olivier Lebreton, singer of the group Alva Starr, expresses his souvenirs of land and its passion for football through musical performances by his group. “From the age of 5, I began learning music at La Ferté-Macé and at the Pré-en-Pail music school. At 6 or 7 years old, I was also enrolled in the local football school and played there for around twenty years,” confides the man who is, today, an employee at the Ministry of Culture and a musician.

A family story

Olivier's parents were also very involved. His father, Christian, was a very good technician and midfielder for the USP football teams for 30 years. His mother, Danièle, is at the origin of the voluntary gymnastics section of the club, launched in 1966 and which continues to welcome 45 members each year.

The grandfather, a pastry chef in Pré-en-Pail, was also a manager of the club. “He invited the managers to meet on Sunday morning at the store, rue Aristide Briand with croissants,” smiles Olivier.

Human warmth and rural life

Each episode of this web series tells a warm, personal story of an artist who, once he leaves the stage, puts on his boots to share the authenticity of football. Between secrets, pre-match rituals and live concerts in the middle of the municipal stadium, Stadium highlights the simplicity and generosity of Sunday clubs.

Director Samuel Petit celebrates the intimacy of these encounters and the closeness between artists, supporters and amateur players, an experience that combines human warmth and rural life or neighborhood life.
